A 22-week 'Intensive' EMT initial certification course that satisfies eligibility requirements for the National Registry and Ohio State EMT examinations. All 22 weeks take place in person at our campus in Brooklyn, OH.

OVERVIEW
COURSE SUMMARY
The Emergency Medical Technician program at Premier Health & Safety Academy is accredited by the State of Ohio. This program is the entry level training for the professional pre-hospital care provider. Students that successfully complete this program are eligible to sit for the National Registry of EMTs examination; this National Registry exam is required for State of Ohio EMT Certification. EMT certification is required by the State of Ohio to continue on to Advanced EMT or Paramedic level.
EMTs are trained in all phases of basic life support. We strive for student success in both didactic and clinical areas of the course. Students are instructed in all life saving situations.
Course Requirements
Minimum age 17
Valid driver’s license or state ID
Immunizations: MMR, varicella, Tdap, Hep B series, TB test
Background check and drug screen per state EMS rules
Ability to lift 125 lb with partner, kneel, and perform prolonged CPR
Full or scheduled tuition payment
What You'll Earn
Course completion certificate recognized by your State EMS Office
Eligibility to sit for the National Registry EMT (NREMT) cognitive & psychomotor exams
AHA BLS Provider certification (valid 2 years)
Documented competency in patient assessment, airway, ventilation, and oxygen therapy
Documented competency in hemorrhage control, splinting, spinal motion restriction, and emergency childbirth
Instructed in safe ambulance driving & operational readiness
